Yesterday Matt W and Alice caught the train to Birmingham. They were delivering Little Printer to Grand Designs Live, which opened this morning. Grand Designs is a UK TV show about home architectural projects. Now in its 11th series, it’s watched by millions. Earlier this year, the Grand Designs show in London was attended by over 100,000 people.
Little Printer appears in the Automated Home exhibit, which features a number of innovative products in four different rooms. There’s a bathroom, a living room, a kitchen (where we admired Scanomat’s rather lovely counter-top coffee-tap), and a bedroom. This is where you’ll find Little Printer, sitting proudly on a mirrored bedside cabinet.
Over the weekend, tens of thousands of people will visit the show. Yesterday, however, it wasn’t quite ready. Lots of busy folk in fluorescent jerkins rushed about building lighting rigs and providing hasty licks of paint to freshly erected displays.
Here’s Alice, looking a bit bemused by all the fuss.
And here’s Matt, configuring things in the bedroom. While the decor may be a little gothic for some, there’s no doubt that Little Printer has settled in nicely and looks at home.
Finally, here’s a close-up of Little Printer in the boudoir. Eagle-eyed readers will notice that the mirrored finish provides a rare glimpse of Little Printer’s steel tummy.
If you’re visting the show over the weekend, please pop by and say hello. We won’t be there, but Little Printer will be delighted to see you.
